Dental Implants
Dental implants are a surgical procedure that replaces missing teeth and restores a person’s ability to chew. Idaho Perio uses top of the line dental implants made by Straumann Group. Implants are usually made of titanium consisting of a single post that is surgically implanted into the jaw to act as an artificial tooth root. After a three to four month healing period, our doctors will test the implant to ensure it has integrated properly to the bone. The implant is then connected to a replacement tooth at your general dentist, called a crown, using an extension called an abutment. The crown is custom-made to match the patient’s natural teeth.
Implants can be used as a replacement for single teeth, implant bridges, or can be used to support an entire arch of teeth.
All-On-Four or All-On-X is a fantastic way to avoid ill-fitting dentures. Our surgeons will place 4 to 8 implants to support your denture. No more adhesives, just stable dentures that stay in place.

In some cases, we can even do Teeth in a Day! This procedure does require a bit of planning with our team, but the extractions, implants, and a temporary denture are placed during one trip to the office! After the healing period we will remove the temporary and put the final restoration set of zirconia dentures on which is fixed to the implants.
